As a mom of multiple children, I’m always looking for little ways to make life at home smoother and easier. Honestly, I don’t enjoy spending long hours in the kitchen. With kids and a million other things to take care of, anything that saves me time and energy feels like a blessing.
That’s why I wanted to share this list with you. It’s not your usual roundup of kitchen gadgets — a few items might surprise you, but they’ve really made my (kitchen) days so much easier. These are the appliances I truly can’t imagine being without.
If you want to jump straight to the appliances, here’s the order of necessity (1 being the most used):

1. Vegetable Chopper
If I could only keep one thing in my kitchen, it would definitely be my chopper. From onions to potatoes, and pretty much every other veggie or fruit, it makes prepping so much easier. Some of you might know I also chop and freeze my veggies, especially onions, so this chopper is absolutely crucial for my cooking (anything that helps me work faster is a win!).
I’ve gone through quite a few choppers before finding this one. Most of them either broke or their blades gave up too soon. I’d strongly suggest not going for the cheap ones; you’ll just end up wasting money.
So, after a few low-quality disappointments, I finally decided to splurge a bit and bought this one. It’s quite popular on social media with a solid rating of 4.5 ⭐️ from over 81k users. It lasted us a good four years, but I soon realized I needed a slicing blade. So, when that one broke, enter this Australian brand – it’s been with us for over a year now, allaahumma baarik, however… for some reason they’ve stopped selling the slicing blade in white (only in green like the picture in the link above).
Therefore, I did some research and found this one – rated 4.3 ⭐️ by nearly 6k customers – that comes with a slicing blade, even more attachments, and at a much more reasonable price.
Now you can not only chop your salads evenly, but also meal prep in seconds, in shaa Alllaah.

2. Braun Hand Blender, Multi Quick 9
My kids say this is the ONE thing they can’t do without in the kitchen – and honestly, after the chopper, I have to agree. We use it for almost everything except actual cooking. Shredding chicken? Yes. Rough chopping? Yes. Shredding cabbage and slicing vegetables? Yes. Blending, purees, sauces, smoothies, whipping cream, even mashing potatoes – yes, yes, and yes again.
Its sturdy steel body means you can blend hot liquids right in the pot – no need to transfer to another bowl. It’s got multiple attachments and adjustable speed settings, making it useful for so many things.
And the best part? It truly lasts. My first two Braun blenders (MultiQuick 5 & MultiQuick 9 (small)) each lasted over ten years, and now we’re happily on our third. We’ve used different versions over the years, and prices do vary. The one pictured above is the latest – and the most expensive – but there are smaller sets that are much more reasonably priced. 3. LG 14 Place Setting Dishwasher
Okay, this one was a splurge – but totally worth it. I actually waited years before getting it. Out of all my house chores, dishwashing has always been my biggest sore point. We’ve had dishwashers before, but none like this one.
This dishwasher actually washes dishes. It’s quiet, spacious, and fits everything in one go – pots, pans, cups, you name it. And my absolute favorite feature? The third drawer for spoons. Honestly, that little drawer is pure genius. It’s unbelievably satisfying to load and unload (just look at my picture at the top/on the left!). No more spoons falling through, hiding at the bottom, or sitting in an overcrowded basket. Everything gets properly cleaned, every single time.
Also… I’m not sure if anyone else does this, but I end up washing so many other things that can’t go in the washing machine – and this dishwasher handles them perfectly. Some examples (you’ll laugh at a few): decor pieces, certain table mats, glass vases, lazy Susans, lamp shades, and the weirdest one yet – the kids’ trolley bags!
(And a little tip – I now use dishwashing powder instead of tablets. It gives the exact same sparkling results but at nearly a quarter of the price. Saves money and works perfectly ✨)
4. BLACK+DECKER Cordless Electric Kettle
This is a total no-brainer – every kitchen needs a good hot water kettle. Tea, coffee, other hot drinks, cooking, or even cleaning tough stains… it gets used for everything. This one is reasonably priced, has a large capacity, and is built to last. A small gadget, but one that makes daily life so much easier!
5. Revolving Spice Rack Organizer
I love, love my spice rack – it’s honestly the only thing I use for spices when I’m cooking. I’m the kind of cook who dumps a bit, tastes, fixes it, and moves on, and this makes that whole process so easy. If you cook like that too, this will take your cooking game to another level. You won’t realize how much you needed it until you start using it.
6. Stainless Steel Glass Rinser
This is one of my newer kitchen gadgets, and honestly, I can’t imagine life without it now. Ever struggle with bottles that have tiny necks, or spots your brush just can’t reach? That’s exactly what this solves. I use it for bottles, glasses, cups, lids, spouts – anything that needs a good rinse.
The best part? It’s so convenient that even my kids enjoy washing their own cups and mugs now (as long as they don’t spray water everywhere!). It’s one of those little tools that just makes life easier, every single time.
7. Cookgen Bamboo Cutting Board Set of 3 With Juice Groove
Every kitchen needs good chopping boards – and ones with grooves are a must. No one wants juices spilling onto the counter and making an even bigger mess! This set of three bamboo boards is sturdy, practical, and comes at an excellent price.
P.S. If you’re still using plastic chopping boards, it’s worth thinking twice. We often don’t realize we’re chopping tiny bits of plastic right into our food.
8. Easy-Release Ice Cube Tray
I had no idea how much I’d end up using this until my kids gifted this cute vertical ice cube tray to me one Eid, and I absolutely love it. It’s easy to use, easy to fill, easy to clean, and takes up hardly any space. I love that it’s vertical – no water spilling as you slide it into the freezer – and it’s covered, so no more strange-smelling, awful-tasting ice. And honestly, popping the ice out is so satisfying!
The funny part? My kids didn’t know I had bought one for them that same Eid – theirs is just a much bigger version.
9. Kenwood Stand Mixer, 1400W
QadarAllaah, my exact Kenwood stand mixer isn’t made anymore, but ours has been going strong for over 15 years now, allaahumma baarik — and that alone tells you how reliable this brand is. So I did a little digging and found this updated model, and honestly, it checks all the boxes. It has excellent power (more than many mixers in its range), an extra-large mixing bowl (even bigger than the standard KitchenAid bowl), and it’s not just for baking; it also comes with a blender attachment you can use while the mixer is running. That’s the kind of convenience busy moms actually feel.
And the look? Clean, modern, and one of those appliances you don’t mind keeping out on the counter because it actually elevates the space.
My teenagers use our Kenwood a couple of times a week, and it’s still sturdy, practical, and easy to clean — the kind of appliance you buy once and benefit from for years. If you’re considering a stand mixer, this is one of those “buy it and you won’t look back” items.
10. Nikai 36 Liter 1500W Electric Oven
This is a baker’s absolute best friend – and if you don’t have an induction stove, trust me, you need it. It’s super easy to clean, keeps the temperature steady, and bakes everything evenly (well… as long as the recipe plays nice 🙂 ). My teenagers have even claimed it as their go-to toaster. See? Another multi-purpose little lifesaver in the kitchen ✨
Not-So-Essential, But Very Important for My Kitchen
Now that we’ve talked about my top 10 must-haves, I wanted to share a few more things that might not be “essential,” but honestly, they’ve become such useful extras in my kitchen. These are the tools that make life easier, cleaner, or just a bit more fun. I may not reach for them every single day, but when I do – I’m so glad to have them.
To make it easier, here’s the order of necessity for these, too:

Do you love toasted sandwiches, shawarma, grilled tortillas, or waffles on early mornings? And do you also love when things are easy to clean and tuck away afterward? Then this 3-in-1 sandwich maker is going to be your favorite.
With lots of kids, I’ve learned to appreciate appliances that can do more than one job – and this one definitely earns its spot. From breakfast to quick evening snacks, it’s a little lifesaver in my kitchen (dishwasher safe, too!). Also linking this one here for smaller families (2 slices).
2. Auto Rolling Egg Holder
Not a complete necessity, but if you have multiple children who go through eggs quickly, you know that one tray a month just isn’t enough – and buying several trays can create a storage headache, especially if you live somewhere hot and need to keep eggs in the fridge. That’s where this egg holder comes in. It keeps extra eggs neatly stacked and stops them from tumbling out when someone opens the fridge door a little too enthusiastically.
3. Braun Citrus Juicer
Our Braun Citrus Juicer is 20 years old and still going strong, allaahumma baarik. We absolutely love it. It’s simple, not bulky, and even the little ones can use it without any trouble. Easy to wash, easy to put away, and always ready whenever we want a fresh glass of orange juice or a little boost of vitamin C in the morning. Honestly, some of the simplest appliances end up being the most reliable! 🍊
4. De’Longhi Air Fryer, Multi Fry and Multi Cooker
Ok, I’ll be honest – we mostly use our De’Longhi Multi Cooker during Ramadaan, or whenever I’m grilling salmon, because it makes the salmon so good. It’s different from other air fryers since it doesn’t have a mesh basket, but a solid steel pot inside, which means our samosas, spring rolls, and other fried treats cook evenly and perfectly. And the best part? Almost all the parts are dishwasher-safe, so cleanup is super easy.
5. Rotary Cheese Grater
Last, but not least, is my rotary cheese grater. Do you love freshly shredded cheese on your meals? Or want a quick, fresh salad but don’t feel like slicing cucumbers, carrots, or cabbage? I don’t use this grater for everything, but when I do, it’s so easy and practical. It slices, grates, and preps things quickly, cleans up in no time, and is compact enough to keep handy. For under 50 SR, it’s a tiny gadget that really comes in handy – and yes, it gives your arms a little workout while you’re at it 💪🏼.
