As a mom of multiple children, I’m always looking for little ways to make life at home smoother and easier. Honestly, I don’t enjoy spending long hours in the kitchen. With kids and a million other things to take care of, anything that saves me time and energy feels like a blessing.

That’s why I wanted to share this list with you. It’s not your usual roundup of kitchen gadgets — a few items might surprise you, but they’ve really made my (kitchen) days so much easier. These are the appliances I truly can’t imagine being without.

1. Vegetable Chopper

If I could only keep one thing in my kitchen, it would definitely be my chopper. From onions to potatoes, and pretty much every other veggie or fruit, it makes prepping so much easier. Some of you might know I also chop and freeze my veggies, especially onions, so this chopper is absolutely crucial for my cooking (anything that helps me work faster is a win!).

I’ve gone through quite a few choppers before finding this one. Most of them either broke or their blades gave up too soon. I’d strongly suggest not going for the cheap ones; you’ll just end up wasting money.

So, after a few low-quality disappointments, I finally decided to splurge a bit and bought this one. It’s quite popular on social media with a solid rating of 4.5 ⭐️ from over 81k users. It lasted us a good four years, but I soon realized I needed a slicing blade. So, when that one broke, enter this Australian brand – it’s been with us for over a year now, allaahumma baarik, however… for some reason they’ve stopped selling the slicing blade in white (only in green like the picture in the link above).

Therefore, I did some research and found this one – rated 4.3 ⭐️ by nearly 6k customers – that comes with a slicing blade, even more attachments, and at a much more reasonable price.

2. Braun Hand Blender, Multi Quick 9

My kids say this is the ONE thing they can’t do without in the kitchen – and honestly, after the chopper, I have to agree. We use it for almost everything except actual cooking. Shredding chicken? Yes. Rough chopping? Yes. Shredding cabbage and slicing vegetables? Yes. Blending, purees, sauces, smoothies, whipping cream, even mashing potatoes – yes, yes, and yes again.

Its sturdy steel body means you can blend hot liquids right in the pot – no need to transfer to another bowl. It’s got multiple attachments and adjustable speed settings, making it useful for so many things.

And the best part? It truly lasts. My first two Braun blenders (MultiQuick 5 & MultiQuick 9 (small)) each lasted over ten years, and now we’re happily on our third. We’ve used different versions over the years, and prices do vary. The one pictured above is the latest – and the most expensive – but there are smaller sets that are much more reasonably priced. 3. LG 14 Place Setting Dishwasher

Okay, this one was a splurge – but totally worth it. I actually waited years before getting it. Out of all my house chores, dishwashing has always been my biggest sore point. We’ve had dishwashers before, but none like this one.

This dishwasher actually washes dishes. It’s quiet, spacious, and fits everything in one go – pots, pans, cups, you name it. And my absolute favorite feature? The third drawer for spoons. Honestly, that little drawer is pure genius. It’s unbelievably satisfying to load and unload (just look at my picture at the top/on the left!). No more spoons falling through, hiding at the bottom, or sitting in an overcrowded basket. Everything gets properly cleaned, every single time.

Also… I’m not sure if anyone else does this, but I end up washing so many other things that can’t go in the washing machine – and this dishwasher handles them perfectly. I had no idea how much I’d end up using this until my kids gifted this cute vertical ice cube tray to me one Eid, and I absolutely love it. It’s easy to use, easy to fill, easy to clean, and takes up hardly any space. I love that it’s vertical – no water spilling as you slide it into the freezer – and it’s covered, so no more strange-smelling, awful-tasting ice. And honestly, popping the ice out is so satisfying!

The funny part? My kids didn’t know I had bought one for them that same Eid – theirs is just a much bigger version.

9. Kenwood Stand Mixer, 1400W

QadarAllaah, my exact Kenwood stand mixer isn’t made anymore, but ours has been going strong for over 15 years now, allaahumma baarik — and that alone tells you how reliable this brand is. So I did a little digging and found this updated model, and honestly, it checks all the boxes. It has excellent power (more than many mixers in its range), an extra-large mixing bowl (even bigger than the standard KitchenAid bowl), and it’s not just for baking; it also comes with a blender attachment you can use while the mixer is running. That’s the kind of convenience busy moms actually feel.

Now that we’ve talked about my top 10 must-haves, I wanted to share a few more things that might not be “essential,” but honestly, they’ve become such useful extras in my kitchen. These are the tools that make life easier, cleaner, or just a bit more fun. I may not reach for them every single day, but when I do – I’m so glad to have them.
